Catering to individual needs. Some students need visual explanations — diagrams, models, annotated images while others grasp a concept faster through verbal explanation or by working through a problem themselves. I'd use a mix of all three (visual, verbal, hands-on/applied) within a single topic so no learning style is left out, and I'd adjust pacing in real time rather than sticking rigidly to a lesson plan if a student needs more time on something.

Making content relevant, not abstract. People engage far more when they can see why something matters. For physiotherapy-related material specifically, that means tying anatomy or physiology back to a real clinical scenario or a case study, rather than teaching it as disconnected facts to memorise.

Interactivity over passive listening. Online teaching can easily become one-directional. I'd build in regular checks for understanding quick questions, short quizzes, asking the student to explain a concept back in their own words so learning stays active rather than something that happens to them.

Accessibility and inclusivity. This means being mindful of different backgrounds, prior education levels, language comfort, and even technical constraints (slower internet, different devices), and adapting materials so nobody is excluded by circumstances outside their control.

Feedback as a two-way street. I'd regularly ask students what's working and what isn't for them, rather than assuming my method is landing the way I intend. Teaching should adjust based on that feedback, not stay fixed.

Building rapport. Especially online, where it's easy to feel like just a face on a screen, I'd make an effort to know each student somewhat personally their goals, what frustrates them, what motivates them because people learn better from someone who feels invested in them specifically, not just in the subject.
